Tbilisi has a brand new event location – just a few minutes away from Kavala Mall, a fun park with laser tag, billiards, board games, table soccer, darts and a fully equipped bar has been set up in the middle of a parking garage in a residential area. The concept beyond the Laser Tag Tbilisi agenda works extremely well in this form and offers action for young and old. Our editorial team visited the location, annoyed the staff, shot around and tested it thoroughly. Read on and find out what awaits you here.
Laser Tag in Tbilisi – the perfect location
Even if you are a peace-loving parzifist, it can be fun to give your best friends a headshot in your free time. As with paintball, laser tag is all about positive fun without aggression or bad intentions. The operators of the Lazer Lounge in Tbilisi have set clear accents with the design and style of the location, focusing on fun and clearly distancing themselves from militant war lovers, Russian Rambos and aggressive idiocy with friendly colors and hand-painted walls. The focus is on a good mood concept that immediately gets you going. Anyone who thinks the Lazer Lounge in Tbilisi is aimed at bad-tempered thugs is wrong.
Even in a short space of time, it was possible to attract many nice people. The staff at the Lazer Lounge are always in a good mood, humorous, speak excellent English and contribute significantly to the cool vibe. Our chaotic visit last week put the staff under cute stress. Our motley crew of locals and expats from the infamous Nomads Bar, members of the tbilisi.rocks editorial team plus friends is hard to tame and can be a real challenge. The local laser tag expert Roma managed to keep things running smoothly, even though it felt like 90% of our group had absolutely no idea about this popular fun sport.
Laser tag for newcomers in Tbilisi
With well-trained staff, the entry curve for laser tag is very low, as the aforementioned employee Roma proved. The training takes just under 10 minutes and all the functions of the laser guns and the game sequences are explained. On a positive note, the game sequences, friendly fire and firing frequencies can be adapted for both beginners and professionals. This comes in handy if you’ve had a few drinks at the in-house bar beforehand. We agreed on 7 vs 7 duels and were divided into two teams and led to our starting positions. The laser tag hall in Tbilisi was designed in cyberpunk style and is suitable for rounds of between 3 vs 3 and 7 vs 7.
Each player is equipped with a laser gun and a headband with LEDs that light up in the corresponding team color (red, green or blue). On the playing field there are numerous corridors, covers made of tires, curtains and ledges as well as 2 base camps. The aim of the game is to take aim at the opponents with the laser gun and “eliminate” them with 4 shots to the head. If you are hit, the LED headband vibrates – after the fourth hit, the color goes out and you can no longer fire. If you are “eliminated”, you are not eliminated from the game, but must return to the base, where respawn is automatically initiated.
Action beyond the gaming chair – Real Time Fun
Anyone who thinks Laser Tag is like a leisurely game of Fortnite is very much mistaken. The game thrives on physical exertion, and you’ll be sweating profusely within just a few minutes. This is a good thing and increases the fun of the game. Players are challenged with a tactical approach, simply running across the playing field and shooting around promises little chance of success. The laser gun display allows you to track the progress of the game, successful hits and kills as well as your own demise at any time.
As soon as the light goes on again, the game round is over and the result is announced. The staff make this extra exciting and manage to act as real showmasters. There was a really good atmosphere here and everyone present was thrilled. An additional printout about all statistics is available.
