Once we arrive at Nair Nairi, it only takes a few moments before we are enchanted by the imaginative, Asian-inspired interior. In pleasantly subdued lighting, we marveled at the ceilings draped with colorful cloths, the clothes turned into lampshades, the cleverly placed mirrors and the countless elaborate decorations on the walls and furniture.
We were equally impressed by the equally colorful menu, which combines dishes from Georgia, Mexico, Italy, France and Asia.

Nair Nairi: Restaurant and Tea House in One
The centerpiece of the drinks menu has so far gone unmentioned. It is tea, because the Nair Nairi is not only a restaurant, but also a tea house. Guests can choose from an incredible fifty-five varieties of the best tea in Tbilisi, including black, green, fruit and herbal teas. The black and green teas are also available flavored. The spectrum ranges from classic to exotic and is so enormous that every guest is guaranteed to find what they are looking for. At first, it’s not easy to decide between Jasmine Pearls Bai Yin, Gunpowder Zhu Cha, Sicilian Orange or Rooibush Strawberry Cream, but our favorite is and remains Ginseng Flight of Dragon.
- The prices are really good for the excellent quality, you get a whole pot for around 7-9 GEL, depending on the variety. As the staff are well informed about the respective brewing time, you get a great tasting result.
All varieties of tea can also be purchased to take home in another of the operator’s branches. The small, beautifully packaged tea portions are also perfect as a souvenir for those at home, away from chacha and co. This means that there is no risk of exceeding the maximum weight of the suitcase, nor are there any maximum quantities permitted for import into the home country.
Coffee lovers get their money's worth at Nair Nairi
As one of the best restaurants in Tbilisi, Nair Nairi offers more than just first-class culinary delights. In addition to the classic espresso and Americano, coffee lovers will also find flavored variations such as the caramel latte or the hazelnut cappuccino. Another highlight of the coffee specialties are the coffee cocktails, which can be ordered hot or cold.
Wonderful desserts and various cakes are the perfect complement! The heavenly aroma of fresh waffles and crêpes fills your nose as soon as you enter the restaurant. Thanks to the numerous fillings and toppings, these can be customized to suit individual tastes.
Dishes as varied as the Restaurant itself
The menu of the best restaurant in Vera is richly stocked. At first glance, it appears overloaded, just like the furnishings and decor. Even quick-minded guests need a little more time to browse and choose. Here you will not only find Georgian national dishes, but also Italian pasta, Asian dishes, Mexican and French specialties.
- An insider tip is the cordon bleu, which cannot be found in this excellent quality anywhere else in Tbilisi.
- All the dishes are a real treat for the palate, but the generous portions make it difficult to finish off with a tempting dessert.
The service staff always impressed us with their friendliness, sometimes it takes a little longer to be served, but this is also due to the fact that the restaurant is usually very busy.
A Paradise on Earth with a charming balcony
The paradisiacal decorated Nair Nairi has a generous amount of space on the first floor and additional tables on the second floor. Not only can you enjoy a great view of the majestic buildings of Marjanishvilli during your meal, the windows can also be opened completely. However, smokers will not be happy in these seats. But there is a remedy for that too. One of the best restaurants in Vera is also home to a tiny balcony with three tables.
Admittedly, it’s not for claustrophobics or people with a little more body mass, as the space and freedom of movement are really very limited. But: for people who like it cozy and private and don’t want to miss out on a cigarette before, between and after meals, the minimalist terrace is the ultimate solution.
You absolutely have to come back – one visit is not enough
If you fancy good, inexpensive food in an enchanting atmosphere, you should definitely pay a visit to this wonderful location. Thanks to its versatility, you are not tied down to a particular country’s cuisine in advance. This means that even within a group, the most diverse tastes can be satisfied, discussions are avoided and everyone is happy.
- It is also worth stopping by for breakfast or in the afternoon for a cup of wonderful tea or coffee and a cake, waffle or crêpe.
- The price-performance ratio is just as good as the portion size, and the food and drinks are of the highest quality in terms of taste.
